A PIECE OF YOUR LIFE

They were everywhere. People. Had he lost mind, he asked himself. Things had changed, times had become shorter, attention spans didn't exist anymore and life had become, well, somewhat dry. Pretty dry actually. He remembered what it was like to be a kid again. Summers that seemed to last a lifetime, days that never wanted to end. "He must have REALLY lost is mind......" The voice in his head had grown louder.  The sadness and disappointment with life he had always dragged along with himself like that special box your mom never wanted you to discover, had finally overthrown him. He shuffled his way through the hot streets of his semi-decaying city and watched the laughing, playing children, chatty mothers and proud fathers as if he had been separated from them by an invisible wall. As if they were in a slow motion world where happiness was somehow attainable. Flashback. He knew this feeling far too well. Being disconnected and cold inside made you feel strong, but somehow, it also killed everything you could ever feel. He wondered if he could feel, if he was able to feel. Anything but this fucking cold, or this fucking pain. Somehow it all was the same anyway. A sticky melting-pot of fucked up non-emotions waiting to follow him until the day he died, or so he thought...
